AMWJU, EGM lay guidelines for reporters

IMPHAL: The All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) and The Editors Guild Manipur (EGM) have announced a list of stipulation for the safety of media persons fraternity during an emergency meeting at Manipur Press Club on Sunday.

During the meeting a resolution was adopted in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, to protect the media persons against the COVID-19, all press meet/conference/public gathering at the Manipur Press Club has been banned for the time being; all the reporters/correspondents have been advised against participating in a press meet called by any individual/organization; all the organization and individual wishing to hold or release press statement are requested to self-record and send the press release/statement/video clips through electronic means via mail/ WhatsApp of individual’s media firm or to the authorized given WhatsApp numbers 8974283214 and email-amwjul974@gmail.com

All reporters are advised against participating in any media tour/pick up programme for the time being; all the government press communication is requested to be sent through the Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) or to the authorized given WhatsApp number-8974283214 and email-amwju1974egmall.com.

Government health authority is requested to provide a list of panel members authorized to speak/participate/give comment in a panel discussion/query from media houses in connection of the COVID-19 and its related issues, said a press release by Khwairakpam Naoba General Secretary, AMWJU.
