Imphal: All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) has demanded the concerned authority of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) to take necessary action against those candidates who reportedly forged their certificates in the recent recruitment of five technicians.
AMSU Vice-President L Angouba said that five ECG Technicians were to be recruited on daily wage basis as per the notice issued by Deputy Director (Administration) RIMS on June 30.
He said that interview for the recruitment was conducted on July 6 and the results were announced on July 7 appointing five new technicians but shockingly AMSU came to learn that the candidates used forged certificates in their bid to secure the job.
He said that the shocking revelation came at a time when concerted efforts are being made to upgrade RIMS to the standard of AIIMS. He wondered how such candidates could provide quality healthcare service to the people who reposed full faith in the institute.
Angouba claimed that RIMS authority is to be blamed for causing such negligence in the recruitment process without proper verification of certificates submitted by the candidates. He then demanded submission of new applications and fresh conduct of the recruitment process at the earliest, asserting that indulging in such irregularities would only cause hindrance to elevate RIMS to the level to AIIMS. Saying that witnessing such lapses in the recruitment process is highly condemnable, he appealed to the people to support the students’ body in its steps taken up to unfold the truth behind the ‘fraudulent’ recruitment process.
