Imphal: Based on the theme “Imposition of school monthly fees by Government during lockdown”, All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) organized an open discussion and was held at the AMSU Headquarter Conference on Saturday.
The parents/guardians and others present on the day shared their different opinion and resolved five resolutions. The five resolutions are namely, condemning the order issued on October 5, 2020 about the collection of monthly school fees with 30 percent as well as to put pressure collectively to revoke the order to the government; not to pay monthly school fees until and unless government give a right clarification from their side and stop immediately asking school fees by the school authority; to put pressure to the school authority to release the monthly salary of private school teachers’; organizing joint meeting of teachers’ to form a one joint teachers’ organization for private/missionary/CBSE/aided schools and jointly pressure to the state government to establish a regulation act and proper implementation of “The Manipur Private Schools (Registrations and Regulation) Act, 2017 and Hostels & Boarding.
Secretary of All Manipur Students’ Guardian Organizations (AMSGO) S. Sumati, Advisor of AMSU Thokchom Suresh and president of AMSU Peter Laishram attended as presidium members on the day. Many parents/guardians from different Catholic schools and private schools and welfare for the students’ community from every section also present voluntarily on the day.
The AMSU once again appealed to all people in the state to support any activities or agitation to be taken up for the students’ community.
