AMGSU congratulates GP. Prasain

KANGPOKPI: The All Manipur Gorkha Students’ Union Manipur congratulated GP. Parsain, former Professor of Commerce and Dean of Social Sciences in Manipur University on being appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the Tripura Central University.

The student body in its press communiqué said that 2020 has been a year of disaster and all of humanity has faced tremendous problems and issues in this time of global distress. But, at this moment of distress, positive news is coming to us. The pride of the Gorkhas of Manipur, G.P. Prasain, who was serving as the Professor of Commerce and Dean of Social Sciences in Manipur University, has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the prestigious Tripura Central University.

It said that GP. Parsian who hailed from the small village of Charhajare in Kangpokpi District of Manipur and a student of the Hindi Secondary School, Kanglatongbi, completed his M.Com and Ph.D. from prestigious Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and joined Manipur University soon after he return back from Varanasi.

He has thirty years of teaching experience at post graduate level and twelve years as Professor in Manipur University, Imphal. He has published seven books; sixty seven research papers out of which eight papers has been published in International Journals.

Prof. Prasain has been awarded Fellow of Indian Commerce Association, New Delhi during the year 2010 and 2014. He is also a Life Member of Indian Commerce Association, Indian Accounting Association, Indian Institute of Public Administration and few more organisation of national importance. He has visited United State of America, Myanmar, Bhutan and Nepal on various academic assignments.

It is indeed a moment of pride for not only the people of Manipur, but all of us North Eastern. This moment will surely motivate many amongst us to move forward in the journey of life. He has inspired all of us in the Gorkha community by proving to us that despite belonging to a minority community and facing countless hurdles, hard work and dedication will never go wasted and we can always sail through all the storms on the way to success, it added.
