IMPHAL: The Kiyamgei Muslim Village Development Committee (KMVDC) has drawn the necessary attention of the concern state higher authority to allow Aadhaar link to personal bank accounts of the MGNRGS job card holders in order to keep the account secure and for the easy cash withdrawals through net banking sans cumbersome intricacies amid the pandemic lockdown.
KMVDC, in a press statement, said that the job card holders during its sit in protest at the playground of Kiyamgei Makha Leikai also urged fortransfer of their job card accounts to another bank if the concern PNB Irilbung Branch continues to deny the aadhaar linking facility.
While it mentioned that, the concern DC and BDO had been once issued an instruction towards the bank authority to grant an opportunity of withdrawing the wages of MGNREGS job card holders which were been allotted in their account by the government as part of assistance to the daily wagers who have facing hardship in this lockdown period, the job card holders however continue to faces the disadvantages in the bank and transport system for receiving the cash due to Covid-19 lockdown in the state, KMVDC added.
Further, taking part in the initiative of solving the problem being faced by the job card holders of the village, Kiyamgei Muslim Arapti G.P. pradhan Mohmad Saphauddin along with the members of KMVDC had approached the Bank Manager of Punjab national Bank (PNB) Iribung Branch regarding aadhar linking for accounts of the job card holders. The bank has rejected the proposal of the local people, KMVDC added.
Hence, the committee appealed to the concern state higher authority to solve the grievances of the concern village job card holders at the earliest by making the account holders accessible to their bank accounts with aadhaar in order to keep their account safe and also to enable the withdrawal of their wages sanctioned under Gram Panchayat Development Plan 2019-20-21 amid this critical situation to those daily wagers whose lives are severely affected from the current pandemic lockdown.
