All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers’ Union submits memorandum to Prime Minister

Imphal: All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers’ Union has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi with an eight point demand.

The memorandum was signed by secretary and president of All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers’ Union namely Arambam Thoi Chanu and S. Mainou respectively.

The eight points raised by the union are that the mid-day meal workers should be paid Rs. 7500 per month during the Covid-19 pandemic period; all the mid-day meal workers’ family must be provided with 10 kg of food grains per person along with all essentials items; the mid-day meal workers working in shelter homes or isolation centre should be paid Rs. 650 per day; remuneration should be paid regularly for 12 months in year; pending regularization, minimum wages of Rs. 24000 per month should be paid to mid-day meal workers; the mid day meal workers should be regularized and they should paid minimum wages and pension at the time of retirement as per the recommendation of 45th ILC; all children including the children the children returned migrants should be given ration in enhanced quantity and; MNREGA workers should be provided lunch at the work place as well as mid-day meal workers should also be given work under MNREGA and also the workers can prepare lunch at the site and they should be paid for this.
