Churachandpur: Former Speaker of Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and MLA candidate of Saikul Assembly Constituency in the last State Assembly election, Ch. Ajang Khongsai was elected as the new President of Kuki Inpi Manipur, an apex body of the Kuki tribes.
Khongsai was elected in an election cum oath taking programme held on Tuesday at Kuki Inn, Imphal.
M. Chinsuanlam Zou from the United Zou Organisation (UZO), Lhunthang Mate from Mate Tribe Council, RT Akhel Aimol from Aimol Tribe Union, Lunkhohao Haokip from Any Kuki Tribes and Wesley L. Neishiel from Gangte Tribe Union were elected as vice-president.
NK. Mangcha Haokip, Lunjathang Thangeo, Khaikholet Gangte, T. Zamkholet Haokip, Letkholun Khongsai and Lhunkholal Kipgen were elected as Joint Secretary.
Solet Lhungdim, Kumpipa administered the oath of office to the newly elected President and his cabinet while Rev. James Nguldinglen, Field Secretary, Manipur Mission Field invoked blessing prayer for the new executives.
