Imphal: As a part of security measures, state police continued to crack down on curfew and lock down violators and those who were not wearing face mask in public to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
ADGP (LO) L. Kailun in a press note stated that around 889 curfew and lockdown violators along with 731 vehicles were detained during drives conducted on Sunday.
The detained violators were produced before the concerned magistrates and were imposed fined of Rs. 91,200.
ADGP (LO) in the press release warned those who do not wear face mask in public and those who violates the curfew and lockdown will be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The detained violators, vehicles and fines were collected from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Chandel, Noney, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong District Police during the drive carried out on Sunday.
