IMPHAL: In what could be termed as a slight relief, 76 patients recovered and discharged over the last 24 hours against new 48 cases. However, community transmission continued unabated as 27 cases were without any significant travel history.
According to a statement issued by Dr Shasheekumar Manganga, Addl Director Health Department and Spokesperson Covid Common Control Room, 41 individuals including 7 personnel of Central Armed Police Force tested positive for the contagion taking the total count of confirmed Covid-19 positive cases to 3982.
Of the 34 civilians who had tested positive in the last 24 hours, 27 locals do not have history of travelling outside the state except for 7 from Kakching, Kamjong and Noney districts. 13 samples were detected positive for the deadly virus at VRDL of RIMS, 3 at Babina Diagnostic, 11 at Imphal West Rapid Antigen test, one at DH Jiribam, 2 at Kangpokpi, 5 each at Thoubal and Churachandpur District Hospital.
Of the 34 civilians who tested positive, Imphal West district alone reported 13 positive cases while 6 cases were from Thoubal, one each from Imphal, East and Churachandpur, 4 from Kamjong, 5 from Noney and 3 from Kakching. The infected patients will be shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the statement of CCR.
No Covid-19 related death case was reported on the day.
The Control Room further stated that 76 Covid-19 patients were discharged from CAPF (2), RIMS (4), Covid care centre Meitram (23) and Ukhrul (11), Thoubal (11) and RD Wing (25) after they were found Covid free on RT PCR test.
Of the 3982 cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 positive cases, 3086 belong to general population and 896 to CAPF.
With 2231Covid-19 patients out of 3982 having recovered, State’s total count of active COVID-19 cases stand at 1739, thus recovery rate pegging at 56.02 percent.
Of the 1739 active cases, 1015 belong to general population and 724 to security personnel.
It further stated that the state Government had constituted a 24×7 Hospitalisation Helpline number operated through State Health Agency. In the past three days, SHA attended to more than 250 cases. Any persons facing difficulty to get emergency services or Admission in Hospitals may contact the toll free helpline no.1800-103-2015 for necessary assistance, it added.
