IMPHAL: 91 individuals including 63 CRPF personnel and three armies have tested positive for COVID-19 to take the total count of confirmed positive cases to 1891.
The 63 person from Kangpokpi are personnel of CRPF training centre, Kangpokpi and three persons from Imphal West are Army personnel from Leimakhong Garrisson. They recently joined to their duty after leave.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the State Consultative Committee for COVID-19 held at Chief Minister Secretariat on Saturday minutely discussed the prevailing situation in the state.
According to sources, the eminent members who attended the meeting reportedly lauded the efforts of the COVID-19 Rapid Response Team and all the frontline warriors to check the spread of the deadly virus. In the meeting, Chief Minister lauded the MLAs, intellectuals, HODs and other members of the Committee who gave valuable suggestions to the Government.
On the other hand, 91 more fresh cases (82 males, 9 females) were detected positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours to take the total count of COVID-19 positive cases to 1891
According to a press release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room, 186 cases were detected positive at RIMS lab while 63 at JNIMS, three cases at DH Tamenglong, eight at DH Thoubal, one at Ukhrul.
The fresh cases include three from Imphal West, 63 from Kangpokpi, six from Kamjong, three from Tamenglong, 12 from Thoubal and four from Ukhrul. The Health department, however, did not divulge the travel history of the individuals. They have been shifted to Covid care facilities and Health authority is taking up all necessary preventive and control measures like containment and contact tracing, added the statement.
Meanwhile, 19 persons were discharged from the Hospitals today after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test. Six patients were discharged from Covid Care centre, Meitram, one from Thoubal, seven from Kamjong, three from RIMS and two from JNIMS.
State’s active cases stand at 709. 1182 patients have recovered, recording a recovery rate of 62.50 by Friday.
In the last 24 hours, 517 samples were tested at RIMS and all turned out to be negative except 16. Another 422 samples were tested at JNIMS and 63 samples of them turned out to be positive for the contagion. One out of 225 samples tested at DH Ukhrul tested positive.
When 193 samples were tested at Thoubal, eight samples came out positive while three samples out of 111 tested at DH Tamenglong came out positive for the virus.
