Imphal: At least five persons died of Covid-19 and as many as 242 persons including 129 male and 113 female from general population and 14 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-I9 positive cases in the past 24 hours.A press release issued by Additional Director and Spokesperson of State Health Department Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that the positive persons were tested at JNIMS (28), RIMS (25), Imphal East (2), Imphal West (29), Maipakpi (3), Raj Medicity (35), Ema Hospital (4), Sielmat Hospital (3), Jivan Hospital (4), Advance Hospital (4), Babina Diagnostics (67), Escent Diagnostics (16), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (12), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (6), Chandel (2), Kangpokpi (2), Jiribam (2), Noney (2) and Kamjong (1).It further informed that the positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (56), Imphal West (112), Thoubal (13), Bishnupur (17), Kakching (13), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (13), Chandel (3), Kangpokpi (4), Noney (4), Kamjong (1) and Jiribam (2). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.In the last 24 hours, five persons 80 years male from Bishnupur, 35 years male from Imphal East, 58 years male (CAPF) from Imphal West, 79 years female from Imphal West and 32 years male from Imphal West expired at Shija Hospital (1), RIMS (3) and JNIMS (1) Hospital respectively and the cumulative number of deaths is 415. The total number of discharged persons is 80. They are from CAPF (1), Home Isolation (70), RIMS (1), JNIMS (2) and SHRI (6), it added.It conveyed that the cumulative number of positive cases is 32, 161 (General Population 28,576 and Central Security Personnel 3,585). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,923 (General Population -26,471 and Central Security Personnel 3,452). The number of active cases is 1823 (General Population-1695 and Central Security Personnel – 128). The recovery rate is 93.04 percent.Further it informed that air passengers who travelled to the State on (i) 25 April, 2021 by Indigo Flight 6E-6181 in rows 16-21 and 6E-21 in rows 29-35 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.As per latest information, the total number of persons vaccinated is 207765 and all persons above 45 years are advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccination centers of RIMS, JNIMS, District Hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and selected private Hospitals, it added.
