Imphal: Covid-19 test results of five foreign tourists who were under quarantine at the Covid-19 Observation room at ADC Moreh Complex have turned out negative. The 5 tourists comprised of one male each from Spain and Italy and two females and one male from France.
As the test results of the 5 foreign tourists has turn out negative, Spain Embassy has sought help from Ministry of Home Affairs in sending the tourists to their respected country/home.
The 5 tourists left Moreh for Siliguri in an Innova Car on Saturday afternoon after Ministry of Home Affairs notified Chief Secretary/DGP of Manipur.
Meanwhile, 19 persons including the son who had stayed with the Covid-19 positive tested person from Bangalore in Moreh were picked up in an Ambulance from Moreh to conduct test at RIMS on Saturday at around 6:30 am.
It may be mentioned that the Covid-19 positive tested person identified as K. Ramachandran (66 years), son of Krishnan of 15/2, 2nd Cross Marappa Garden, Bension Town Post, Bangalore had travelled to Manipur on business purpose and stayed at Hotel South Indian Restaurant, Moreh Ward No. 3.
According to report received from the patient’s son Ranjit, both stayed in the 3rd Floor of Cosmopolit Hospital before they left Manipur for Bangalore via Kolkata on March 12, 2020, after Ranjit arrived in Moreh in February 2020.
After reaching Bangalore, his father (the patient) went to his daughter’s place at Bangalore South, two days before Janta Curfew, and two days later his father complaint of discomfort.
He has been hospitalized since second week of April, 2020 at Bangalore Baptist Hospital and is on ventilator, the son reported.
Sample of the patient was collected on April 8, 2020 and the result tested Covid-19 positive.
The contact number of the patient has been kept switched off since April 9, 2020.
