43 Manipuri players in ISL (Indian Super League) for 2020-21 season

Imphal: Altogether forty three players from Manipur will be on show in the 2020-21 edition of the Indian Super League, India’s top division, which is the most from any state of India.

Manipur has truly emerged as the “footballer factory” of India. The northeastern state has consistently churned out both quality and quantity as far as supplying players to Indian clubs and the national team is concerned.

As many as 43 players from the state will be plying their trade in various clubs of the ISL-the most

from any state. Here is the club wise break up of players India’s top division.

ATK Mohun Bagan FC: Dheeraj Singh (GK), Salam Ranjan Singh (DF), Borish Singh Thangjam (DF) and Ningombam Engson Singh (MF). Bengaluru FC: Wungngayam Muirang (DF), Suresh Singh Wangjam (MF), Ajay Chhetri (MF), Udanta Singh (FW), Huidrom Thoi (MF), Roshan (MF) and Semboi Haokip (FW). Chennaiyin FC: Regan Singh (DF), Remi Aimol (DF) and Thoi Singh (MF). FC Goa: Mohmmad Nawaz (GK), Makan Chote (FW), Seiminlen Doungel (FW). Hyderabad FC: Chinglensana Singh (DF), and Mohammad Yasir(DF). Jamshedpur FC: Jackichand Singh (FW), Amarjit Kiyam (MF) and Manisana (MF). Mumbai City FC: Mohamad Rakip (DF), Tondonba Singh (DF), Bipin Singh (MF) and Bidyanada Singh (MF). North East United FC: Imran Khan (MF) and Ninthoinganba Meetei (MF). Odisha FC: Thoiba Singh (MF) and Laishram Premjit Singh (MF).

ESC East Bengal: Rohen Singh (MF), Loken Meitei (MF), Tomba Singh (MF), Surchandra Singh (MF), Yumnam Gopi Singh(MF), Angousana Wahengbam (MF). Kerala Blasters: Sandeep Singh (DF), Jeakson Singh (MF), Givson (MF), Nongdamba Naorem (FW) Denechandra Meetei (DF), Seityasen (DF) and Naorem Mahesh (FW).
