IMPHAL: Altogether 410 truck drivers and handyman who entered into the state via Mao and Jiribam were medically screened on Thursday at ISBT (Truck), YAS Complex Khuman Lampak and Sekmai gas Plant and found asymptomatic.
321 truck drivers and handymen were screened at ISBT while 76 oil tanker drivers and handymen at YAS Complex and 13 gas bullet drivers and handymen at Sekmai Gas plant. No persons were found with symptoms for COVID 19 during the screening. A cumulative of 9743 drivers and handymen have been screened till date, according to State Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Manipur.
The report further informed that 84 persons are currently under different Government Quarantine facilities in the state. Four new individuals were kept under Government quarantine centres today. Of the total 439 persons under Government quarantine facilities, 355 have completed their quarantine period. There is any person under Home quarantine as all 486 had already completed their quarantine period.
On Thursday, 14 samples were tested at VRDL laboratory at JNIMS and RIMS and all results came out negative for COVID-19. So far, a cumulative of 459 samples has been tested. No person is kept at the isolation ward of RIMS and JNIMS at present.
588 persons (580 drivers and handymen, 8 commuters) entered the state via different Mao and Jiribam. There were screened at the gates by the medical teams.
A cumulative of 1967,726 persons who entered the state through different entry points including Imphal airport have been screened so far.
Meanwhile, the four Buses which departed Imphal on Wednesday to pick up the first batch of 84 Manipuris stranded at Manipur Bhavan, Guwahati are expected to arrive in Imphal tomorrow.
Upon arrival of the 84 persons, they will be quarantined at Imphal Valley Academy, Ghari, sources said.
They will be received at Mao Entry Point between 6 to 12 am and the symptomatic individuals will immediately be referred to RIMS or JNIMS. Non-symptomatic persons will be escorted to Quarantine centres at Imphal for testing. Those persons with negative results will be sent to their homes for Home Quarantine.
