Thoubal district police arrested 4 drug peddlers including 2 women on Monday.
According to police source, the arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Md.Shah Rukh Khan, 21 years, son of Md. Zakir Hussain of Lilong Haoreibi Sambrukhong, Wahengbam Jiten Singh (45) son of late W. Modhugol Singh of Sekmaijing Mamang Leikai, Kakching District his wife Wahengbam(o) Subha Devi (37)and another one is Nemneichong Harkin,30, wife of Ts.Jamkhopao Haokip, a resident of Moreh Ward No (9).
The source continued that on Monday, at around 02:00 pm, Thoubal District police had received a reliable information about the transportation of drugs, heroin brown sugar at Wangjing Bazar area along NH- 102.
Acting on the information, teams of Thoubal commando led by OC-CDO Inspector N. Tikendra Meetei along with a team of Women PS Thoubal under the command of Additional SP(L&O)/ Thoubal Lakshay Sharma and under the overall supervision SP Thoubal Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh conducted random frisking at Wangjing Heirok crossing at around 2.45 pm, the source added.
During the frisking at around 3.00 pm, one suspected car, dark grey in colour coming towards Khongjom from Imphal was intercepted. The persons in the car were identified themselves as Md.Shahrukh Khan (21), son of Md Zakir Hussain of Lilong Haoreibi Sambrukhong, Wahengbam Jiten Singh (45), son of late W. Modhugol Singh of Sekmaijing Mamang Leikai,Wahengbam (o) Subha Devi (37), Wife of W Jiten Singh
Sekmaijing Mamang Leikai Nemneichong Harkin (30), wife of Ts Jamkhopao Haokip

While searching the car a bag containing 11 soap cases suspected to contain heroin no.4 and a sum of Rs. 64250/‐ along with 3 (three) numbers of mobile phones were recovered. From the disclosure of Ms Nemneichong Harkip, 10 more soap cases of suspected heroin no.4 were recovered from the house of Md Shahrukh Khan. The arrested 4 persons, seized 21(twenty one) soap case containing suspected heroin no. 4 weighing 295 gms, one Honda civic ivtec (dark grey in colour) bearing Regd. No. MN 06/LA-7253 , 3(three) numbrrs Of mobile phones and a sum of Rs 64250/‐ have been handed over to Thoubal PS for necessary legal action, the source informed.
Meanwhile, SP S.Ibomcha has handed over cash rewards as encouragement to the officers involved in seizing the drugs.
