300 km Long Distance Bicycle Ride Held

Imphal: Manipur Adventure and Mountain Bikers Association in a press release stated that Imphal Randonneurs has organised a 300 km long distance bicycle ride on Sunday.

The press release issued by the President of the Association R.K. Sanajaoba Singh stated that the bicycle ride organised as a continuation of the BRM activities was flagged off by Laitonjam Ronaldo, the current UCI World No. 1 in Junior Cycling.

15 riders including 2 female are taking part in the ride which covered a route beginning from Thangmeiband, to and fro Churachandpur, to Kangchup proceeding to Sekmai, to and fro Senapati, to and from Dolaithabi Dam and finally finishing at Thangmeiband after completing a strenuous 300 km, the press release states.

The press release also stated that all the 15 riders accomplished 150 kms upto Sekmai though only 13 riders made to the finishing point after riding continuously, with short breaks, for nearly 20 hours straight.

The ride concluded with a simple reception arranged by well wishers, the press release states.
