3 test positive, active cases soar to 6

Imphal: Seeing a sudden rise in daily cases, three persons from the general population were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases from among 53 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate now stood at 5.6 percent. While the State continued to log zero deaths, one person was discharged in a span of 24 hours.

The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (3). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, conveyed Covid-19 Common Control Room in its bulletin.

In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported nil cases of Covid-19 death. The cumulative number of deaths remained unchanged at 2120. One person was discharged in the last hours. He was from Home Isolation.

The cumulative number of positive cases remained 1,37,250 (General Population-1,32,236 and Central Security Personnel- 5,014) while the cumulative number of recovered cases stood at 1,35,124 (General Population-1,30,117 and Central Security Personnel-5,007).

With the detection of three positive cases, the number of active cases has gone up to six (General Population-6 and Central Security Personnel-0). The recovery rate stayed unchanged at 98.45 percent, it disclosed.

As on Tuesday, a total of 123 D-type Oxygen cylinders and I B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State. The number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered on Tuesday is 1817. The cumulative number of doses stood at 2944058 (first dose-1587207, second dose- 1251756 and precautionary dose-105095), informed the control room.
