237 individuals screened at different entry points, 5 samples tested negative

IMPHAL: Altogether 237 truckers and commuters who entered into the state were medically screened at Mao, Jiribam gate and Imphal Bir Tikendrajit International airport. 162 truckers and eight commuters entered into the state via Mao gate while 65 via Jiribam gate and one via Imphal Bir Tikendrajit International airport.

According to State Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Manipur, altogether 423 truck drivers and handyman were medically screened at ISBT (Truck), Khuman Lampak and they were found asymptomatic.

The report further informed that 90 persons are currently under different Government Quarantine facilities in the state. 16 new individuals were kept under Government quarantine centres today. Of the total 557 persons under Government quarantine facilities, 467 have completed their quarantine period. There is any person under Home quarantine as all 486 had already completed their quarantine period.

On Monday, 5 samples were tested at VRDL laboratory at JNIMS and all results came out negative for COVID-19.  So far, a cumulative of 571 samples have been tested. No person is kept at the isolation wards of RIMS and JNIMS at present.

A cumulative of 199,918 persons who entered the state through different entry points including Imphal airport have been screened so far.
