IMPHAL: With 20 more individuals (14 males, 6 females) testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the total count of confirmed positive cases has jumped to 1911.
According to a press release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room, 20 fresh cases were detected when their samples were tested at RIMS lab (11 samples ), JNIMS (4), Tamenglong district hospital (3), Thoubal district hospital (1) and mobile team Imphal east (1).
Of them, Bishnupur and Ukhrul districts reported one case each, Imphal east district and, Thoubal and Senapati two cases each, Imphal west district nine cases and Tamenglong three cases. All except those from Imphal East district and Thoubal district are returnees from different states. They have been shifted to Covid care facilities and health authority is taking up all necessary preventive and control measures like containment and contact tracing, added the statement.
The Health department also further revealed that 53 persons were discharged from the treatment centres today after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test. 14 patients were discharged from Covid Care centre, Meitram, two from Thoubal, nine from JNIMS Covid care facility, eight each from RD Wing Lamphelpat and Churachandpur district and 12 from Kakching district.
With 1235 patients having recovered, State’s active cases stand at 676, recording a recovery rate of 64.62 by Sunday.
According to status update by IDSP Manipur, in the last 24 hours, as many as 821 samples were tested at RIMS, JNIMS, DH Senapati (Truenat), Babina diagnostic, DH Ukhrul (Antigen test), DH Thoubal (Antigen test), DH Tamenglong (Antigen test), Imphal east (Antigen test) and 20 of them were found positive.
225 samples were tested at RIMS and all turned out to be negative except 11. 368 samples were tested at JNIMS and four of them turned out to be positive for the contagion. Four samples tested at DH Senapati (Truenat) turned out to be negative.
One out of 68 samples tested at DH Thoubal tested positive .
