IMPHAL: Eleven persons who returned to Manipur from China, Thailand and Singapore were detained and screened at Imphal international Airport for possible exposure to Novel Coronavirus by the state Health officials on Monday. Blood samples of one man have been sent for lab test.
With this, state Health officials have so far kept 248 persons who returned to Manipur from China, Thailand and Singapore under Home surveillance.
So far, samples of 9 persons have been sent for testing, of which result of seven samples have been confirmed negative for Coronavirus while result of two samples is yet to be received, said Dr L Arke Singh, Additional director (Public Health)/SSO, IDSP.
Notably, following instruction from the Central Health Ministry to compulsorily screen the people returning from China, Thailand and Singapore and keep them under strict surveillance, State Health officials began to screen such persons and keep them under home surveillance.
